✅ C'mon over to 🤍 where you can learn PLC programming faster and easier than you ever thought possible! = ✅ Check out the full blog post over at 🤍 = OSI stands for Open Systems Interconnection and is a conceptual framework for how applications communicate over a network. There are seven layers within the model and the depiction of the layers is used to help users identify what is happening within a networking system. The OSI model layers are typically described from the top layer down. The layers are described as Application, Presentation, Session, Transport, Network, Data Link, and Physical. These layers are provided by a mixture of network card drivers, operating systems, applications, and networking hardware that facilitate the transmission of signals over Ethernet, Fiber Optic, Wi-Fi, or other wireless protocols. We’ll describe the layers from the top down as the top layer is the Application layer or layer 7. This is the layer that most users interact with and will recognize. The Application layer provides network services to the end user. These services are protocols that work with the data the client is using. One of these protocols may be HTTP that is used with web browsers such as Google Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Other examples of applications that use this layer are Office, Outlook, and Skype. All of those interactive applications provide a set of services that allow the application layer to supply data to and receive data from the Presentation layer. The Presentation layer, or layer 6, performs the uncomplicated task of syntax processing or converting data from one format to another. For example, say you are ordering something from an online store. These transactions are typically handled in a secure transmission which means that the data passing between the “store” or the Website Application will transmit encrypted data to the Presentation layer that will need to be decrypted and processed. This layer handles translating the data from the top layer, which is presented in the application format, to network format and vice versa. After the Presentation layer processes the data from one format to another, the information is then passed to the Session layer or the Application layer depending on whether the data is transmitting or receiving. = Missed our most recent videos? The OSI model (Open System Interconnect) is a theoretical stack of 7 layers that can be used as a reference to understand how a network operates. The model was introduced to standardize networks in a way that allowed multi-vendor systems, prior to this you would only be able to have a one vendor network as the devices could not communicate with other vendor devices. The Layers Application (layer 7) This layer is where the application and user communicates. Application specific protocols are used here such as SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) for sending emails from Outlook. Presentation (layer 6) This layer formats the data in a way that the receiving application can understand it. This layer is also able to encrypt and decrypt date if needed. Session (layer 5) This layer is responsible for establishing and terminating of connections between devices. Transport (layer 4) The transport layer of OSI Model is used for error handling and sequencing to unsure no data is lost. This layer also adds source and destination port numbers Network (layer 3) The network layer handles IP address routing. At this stage of the OSI model the source and destination IP address is added to the data. Data Link (layer 2) At this layer the physical address (MAC Address) is added to the data, this includes the source and destination MAC address. Physical (layer 1) The physical layer is the lowest layer of the OSI model. Its key responsibility is to carry the data across the physical hardware such as an Ethernet cable to the destination. The Internet protocol suite is the conceptual model and set of communications protocols used on the Internet and similar computer networks. It is commonly known as TCP/IP because the original protocols in the suite are the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP). It is occasionally known as the Department of Defense (DoD) model, because the development of the networking model was funded by DARPA, an agency of the United States Department of Defense. The Internet protocol suite provides end-to-end data communication specifying how data should be packetized, addressed, transmitted, routed and received. This functionality is organized into four abstraction layers which are used to sort all related protocols according to the scope of networking involved.[1][2] From lowest to highest, the layers are the link layer, containing communication methods for data that remains within a single network segment (link); the internet layer, connecting independent networks, thus providing internetworking; the transport layer handling host-to-host communication; and the application layer, which provides process-to-process data exchange for applications. Technical standards specifying the Internet protocol suite and many of its constituent protocols are maintained by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The Internet protocol suite model is a simpler model developed prior to the OSI model.

The OSI model describes how a data transfers over the network from one computer to the other and the way that the systems send information to one another. In a perfect world, every step of the OSI model would be followed. Watch to learn what the OSI model is and it’s importance. The Open Systems Interconnection model, or OSI model, is a reference model for how applications should communicate over a network the key world being “should.” The OSI model breaks down the communication process between two network endpoints into seven layers, acting as a network protocol. The seven layers are the application layer, presentation layer, session layer, transport layer, network layer, data-link layer, and physical layer. Each layer has it’s own function, and transmits info to the layer above and below it to work together. Unfortunately, the model is rarely implemented as-is, and few network products actually keep related functions together in the OSI model’s well-defined layers. وهيا تعتبر من اهم الدروس في عالم الشبكات OSI Model شرح جميل و مختصر عن ال وفي نهاية الفيديو راح تـستطيع ان تفهـم كيفية نقل البيانات عبر الشبكات. لمتابعت المزيد من الفيديوهات Subscribe : 🤍 OSI Model هي اختصار لـOpen System Interconnection يتم ترتيب الطبقات من الطبقة السفلى إلى الطبقة العليا ... 7- application. 6- presentation. 5- session. 4- transport. 3- network. 2- data-link. 1- physical. :Application Layer مثلا عندما تقوم بفتح برنامج عبر الشبكة فأنه يستخدم بعض الأدوات التي لا تراها تـسمىTools هـذه هـي الــApplications :Presentation Layer في خلال هذه الـLayer يتم كما هو واضح من المعنى تقديم الـData وتهيئتها للتبـادل اوExchange فيتم تعديل الـCharacter Set و يتم ايـضا عمـلEncryption او تـشفير للمعلومات او حتى ضغط اوCompression للمعلومات. :Session Layer وهي الطبقة التي تسمح لبرنامجين على كمبيوترين مختلفين بإجراء اتصال و استخدام هذا الإتصال و إنهائه بين الجهازين كما تقوم هذه الطبقة بأخذ عينة من آخر جزء من البيانات تم إرساله عند توقف الشبكة عن العمل و ذلك لكي يتم إرسال البيانات عندما تعود الشبكة الى العمل من النقطة التي توقف عندها الإرسال. :Transport layer -هذه الـLayer مسؤلة عن التأكد من نقل البيانـات دون حـدوث اخطـاء -وايضا يتم في هذه الـLayer تقسيم الرسائل الكبيرة إلى عدة رسائل صغيرة وايضا العكـس تحول الأجزاء الصغيرة من الرسالة إلى رسالة طويلة مرة اخرى. -تقوم هذه الطبقة بتجزئة البيانات الى أجزاء تسمى Segments. -كما تقوم بالتأكد من وصول هذه الأجزاء بدون أخطاء أو نقص أو تكرار و بالترتيب المناسب و باستخدام الوجهة المناسبة و تقوم هذه الطبقة في الجهاز المستقبل بإرسال رسالة تعلم باستلامها للبيانات. :Network Layer تقوم هذه الطبقة باختيار أنسب مسار بين الجهاز المرسل و المستقبل ، لهذا فإن أجهزة الموجهات Routers تعمل من ضمن هذه الطبقة. وتنتقل خلال هذه الطبقة ما يـسمى الــPacket :Data Link Layer والأجهزة التالية تعمل في هذه الطبقة وهي: (Bridges و Switches و NIC) :Physical Layer وهي الطبقة المواجهة لوسط الإرسال و المسئولة عن إرسال البيانات التي تم تجهيزها من قبل الطبقات العليا عبر وسط الإرسال ، كما تعرف هذه الطبقة الكيفية التي ستتصل بها بطاقة الشبكة بالأسلاك. _ و لكي تقوم أي طبقة عليا بالوصول الى الطبقة المجاورة السفلى فإنها لا بد أن تستخدم عنوانا يسمى Service Access Point (SAP) و يمكن تصور هذا العنوان كمنفذ منطقي تمر البيانات من خلاله و يضاف الحرف الأول من اسم كل طبقة لهذا المصطلح ليصف اسم المنفذ الخاص بكل طبقة ، فمنفذ طبقة Network يسمى NSAP.
