The final major updates to Football Manager 2022 are done, which means we can fully assess how this year’s game has turned out. SI has been on a roll for a couple years with big leaping improvements to the match engine, but did that hold up this year? I break down not just the match engine, but all the new features in FM22 to determine whether they make it a worthy upgrade from my beloved FM21. I will say, I think the new edition of Football Manager is more frustrating to figure out, as a lot of the dynamics changed that I used to take for granted. This is likely unnoticeable to beginners on FM, but with how much I play it a lot of my assumptions have been wiped out. I will try not to judge it too harshly though on that alone, I just need to get better at the game and not click on things so fast. I do click on things too fast. Like, all the time. Why FM, why. Hoe is Football Manager 2022 inhoudelijk? Football Manager 2022 komt uit op de Xbox, Switch en de PC. En staat vanaf dag 1 op Game Pass. Helaas komt deze editie niet meer uit op de tablet. Summed up, the story of Football Manager 2023 is one that might put the game in a strange position for series veterans. It's an incredible game, and there's no way that fans won't get hundreds of hours of addictive enjoyment out of it. From managing your squad and keeping your players happy to developing the next batch of wonderkids into a team of world-beaters, the experience of building up your club and transforming its fortunes remains as rewarding and engaging as ever. In fact, multiple iterative improvements and tweaks come together to make Football Manager 2023 the best game in the series. At the same time, however, this is also very much a case of diminishing returns. The gap between yearly FM instalments is feeling smaller than ever, so even though this year's game is an accomplished management sim in more ways than one, it might not necessarily be one that you absolutely have to get if you've already got its immediate predecessor in your library.

The time has come. I have rendered my decision on whether Football Manager 2021 is a worthy enough upgrade that you should buy, or not. FM21 does have its upsides, particularly in the match engine, but it also has its downsides, yes, even in the match engine. But, I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt either way to SI trying to make a new game during a global pandemic. I won’t let this change my final opinion on whether to add Football Manager 21 to your library, but it’s worth keeping in mind. I feel the need to stress I’m not paid or in collaboration with SI or Football Manager and am giving you my honest opinion in this video. I hope you would have assumed that, because I do my best not to be sus. V not sus. I do love the Football Manager franchise though, so even when I say bad things I want to do it in a constructive way to help the game be better. This would allow me to make a bunch of videos telling you to buy FM with no problems, which is just fun for everyone.
