We discovered this method for cooking a swede recently after getting fed up with boiling them for literally ages and often finding they were *still* too hard to mash! It's really easy, you don't need to wash, peel or prepare the swede and the resulting cooked swede is juicier and keeps more of the nutrients that are usually lost when boiling it in chopped up pieces. We only have a 700w microwave, so remember to adjust the cooking time if you're using a more powerful one or you have a bigger/smaller swede! Music: 🤍

Although you will read that Swede (Rutabaga) is an easy crop to grow, I've ofter struggled to get the large healthy Swedes (Rutabaga) that you often see. I therefore tried a few adjustments to my growing this year and in this video I share with you what I did differently and show you what a difference it made! Swede (Rutabaga) can be harvested over a longer period than many other types of vegetables. This is because it is frost hardy and can withstanding very hard frosts. It is a versatile and tasty vegetable and one that can be used in a variety of recipes.
