film can offer, and Cate Blanchett’s performance will be studied for decades. I saw it opening night, and I’m still thinking about it.
Having just seen 'Till,' I am left astonished and deeply disappointed that it was not nominated for the best picture of the year Oscar, that its director, Chinonye Chukwu, was not nominated for best director, and that its star, Danielle Deadwyler, was not nominated for best actress. It is one of the finest film dramatizations of historical events I have seen. Perhaps too many Americans are STILL unable to be honest about their history, preferring comforting myths I call "vanillastory." Always remember: "The past is never dead. It is not even past" - William Faulkner.
Could we please bring back movies that are a) uplifting and b) NOT always based on preexisting material?

These films are excellent, though. Brendan Fraser did an outstanding job, and he should win. If he doesn't it really doesn't matter because almost everyone will watch that movie, and he deserves a 5-minute standing ovation from his peers and fans.
