Many saltwater fishermen got their start with the humble winter flounder. Populations of this delicious flatfish have declined in parts of their range, but in Cape Cod Bay, the winter flounder fishery is alive and well for captains like Mike Fowler of Bad Dog Sportfishing. On this episode, Chris Megan and Andy Nabreski join Captain Mike and his first mate "Little Jim" for a morning of flounder fishing and a drift down memory lane. Capt. Terry Nugent of Riptide Charters targets bluefin tuna on spinning gear using the Hogy Slider, hooking up with a 200+ pound fish in early September 2018.
Here's an instructional video filmed in Mid May in Cape Cod Bay where Capt. Cullen Lundholm and Capt. Mike Hogan share some tips on vertical jigging for suspended stripers in deeper water. In the video, Cullen prefers a faster retrieve with a Hogy Sand Eel jigs with an assist hook while Capt. Mike prefers a slower approach with a soft bait. Bottom line, the faster retrieve is great for targeting scattered fish and the slower retrieve is ideal for less aggressive, well-fed stripers. Product Details: 🤍

After a few years with virtually no spring bluefish run, the blues came back to Cape Cod in the late spring of 2020. They followed schools of adult bunker into casting range of the Cape’s bays and beaches. Kevin Blinkoff and Jimmy Fee hit the beach on an early June evening to throw topwaters and metals and enjoy the savage strikes and fierce fights of one of the Northeast’s greatest gamefish. Back on Thursday June 4th 2020, I had a unique opportunity to film and photograph a school of hundreds of striped bass as they hunted sand eels along the bottom and on the surface. Overall this ended up being one of the most exciting striper fishing trips of the 2020 season. The stripers weren't big but it was so cool watching them feed. ABSOLUTE CHAOS - BLITZING AND TOPWATER STRIPED FISHING ON THE CAPE COD CANAL: EPISODE 1: TOPWATER MADNESS // On this episode of Abenz Fishing we start out Cape Cod series off with a BANG - I recently spent two weeks in Cape Cod, MA - I used to live there for the better part of 4 years and I spent every waking minute on the Cape Cod Canal. The Cape Cod Canal is one of the most sought after land based striped bass destinations. The canal can yield striped bass up to 50 lbs and has been home to some of the most insane striped bass blitzes for decades. The Cape Cod Canal is not for the feint of heart and is intimidating landscape. On this inaugural Cape Cod episode the stars aligned and the stripers were FIRED UP! We absolutely crushed the blue fish and striped bass on big topwaters. Check out my boy 🤍Ryan Iz Fishing to see his perspective soon!

INSTAGRAM - Zack_Bostick FISHBRAIN - Zack_Bostick (Pics come out before Videos do.....Usually) CHECK THESE GUYS OUT! ANDREW - 🤍 RICKY - 🤍 So I wanted to catch some Striper! Andrew and I decided to take a weekend trip out to the great Cape Cod Canal! We did our share of research and tried our best to get there for the beginning of the Fall Run! Learned lots and lots about this area with guided help from friends that have been there and locals on the canal! We Jigged till our arms fell off every day that we were there. This trip had days that were busier than others. Which leads me to tell you that this is not an easy place to fish. I still have a lot to learn here. Organization is key while timing your casts with others around you. You don't want to be help accountable for losing someone's fish. Some of the people there take this sport very seriously because it produces a pay check for them. While we were there, the fish were going for a little over $7 a pound. I got skunked by the striper but I did manage to land something.... Check out the video and see what I was able to find! I will be going back when I have time and have one of the Runs timed out. The drive there was a long one and def drained both of us! I had a great time and had some great food. Made some

There are so many types of fishing baits that will work well for beach fishing. We are testing our Squidy Bits versus frozen mackerel. A lot of times it depends on WHERE you are fishing. What kind of beach fishing are you doing? What kind of fish do you hope to catch? Ask yourself these questions then plan your baits and rigs accordingly. Squid typically works well for bottom feeding fish, bluefish, and baitfish. I generally find much success with squid tipped on smaller hooks. If I have very fresh squid, I will throw it out whole on a big hook. Frozen fish work well for big fish if there are a school of hungry fish nearby. Works well for bottom feeding fish, and baitfish. However the meat is soft, and crabs and small fish easily pick it off. Our vision at Hey Skipper is to be the best source of helpful information to anyone who wants to get into the world of fishing! Boston Fishing Tales [Bonagi] 입니다. ボストン釣り, 波士頓釣魚, Boston pesca, Boston angeln bo, बोस्टन फिशिंग, ตกปลาบอสตัน, mancing boston, piscantur boston Last Saturday (7/24), I went boat fishing to Cape Cod Bay with the boat club members. After about 40 minutes from the port, I started bottom fishing at a depth of about 100 - 120 feet, but I kept getting unknown fish. I thought that they were baby pollack, so I released them all. Then, I switched gears to Sabiki to try mackerel. I caught a lot of mackerel. Came back with a full cooler.

Summertime has arrived on Cape, and night fishing for stripers from the beach will be more effective than fishing during the day. Beach fishing at night for stripers is not for everyone, but I enjoy it a lot. Being in nature underneath the stars is what I enjoy most. The chance of hooking into a big fish is icing on the cake. The following video was filmed two summers ago over July 4th weekend. If you are looking to learn a simple method for night fishing for stripers then this video may be beneficial for you. This week I'll be night fishing for stripers using black and purple swimming lures. I will also be rigging a 4 inch white teaser fly in front of the swimming lure. Oftentimes stripers will bite the teaser fly instead of the swimming plug, and sometimes you can even catch two bass at the same time! Another thing I'd like to mention, is that recent research suggests the use of a plastic fish-grip (like the one I used in the above video) may inflict injury to the bass' jaw. The fish-grip is still extremely helpful when it comes to safely removing treble hooks from stripers. However, I plan on using the fish-grip a lot less moving forward. If you're a member of My Fishing Cape Cod, then stay tuned to the 2021 Surfcaster's Thread (🤍 for the latest updates. I am looking forward to letting you know how I do.
